2018  Poetry  Contest


The Orchard Street Press is pleased to announce its annual Poetry Contest.  

Entries of up to four previously unpublished poems (typed, single-spaced, no one poem longer than two pages) will be accepted up to the postmark deadline of March 31. The first prize poem will receive $250 and win the Malovrh-Fenlon Poetry Prize. The second-place poem will receive $150, and third $100. All prize-winning poems and others selected by the judges will appear in Quiet Diamonds, the annual poetry journal of The Orchard Street Press (published in the summer of 2018). The judges may also identify some entrants to be invited to submit chapbooks for possible publication by Orchard Street.

The Orchard Street Press has recently published chapbooks by Suzanne Freeman of Ingram, Texas; Mary Hotlen of Rockford, Illinois; Joe Cheslock of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Joyce Brown from Baltimore, Maryland; Ben Onachila of Brevard, North Carolina; James Scruton from McKenzie, Tennessee; and John P. Kristofco of Highland Heights, Ohio. New work from Joanne Lehman of Wooster, Ohio and Susan Waters from Hobbs, New Mexico will be appearing soon.

Submissions to the Poetry Contest should be sent with the $12 entrance fee (check payable to The Orchard Street Press) to: The Orchard Street Press, P.O. Box 280, Gates Mills, Ohio 44040.
Submission postmark deadline is March 31.
